Is Love Real?

Is Love Real?

Acknowledging the energy of love to transform our reality.

How to create a healthy living amidst any circumstance.

♥︎ Did you know that the prevalence of anxiety and depression worsened markedly around the world during the pandemic, and in some countries it even doubled?

♥︎ Did you know that during the outbreak, in the U.S., 40% of adults have reported symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, indicating a 30% total increase?

♥︎ Did you know that throughout the pandemic, 56% of young adults (ages 18-24) in the U.S. have reported symptoms of anxiety, depression, sleep disruptions or thoughts of suicide?

It is evident that dramatic changes are occurring, not only in the U.S. but all around the world. Also that the current pandemic has heightened many of the issues that society already has had in the past. Financial insecurity, unemployment, fear, and the lack of many protective factors like: social connections, employment and educational engagement, access to physical exercise, daily routine, and access to health services. All of these factors are, indeed, impacting many lives and worsening the mental health of the population.

Now, it is true that things seem very despairing, but let’s begin with a positive mindset and ask these questions: Is it possible that all these disturbances are meant to bring a profound transformation to the life of humanity towards a better future? Is it possible that our world is actually transitioning from an old to a new, more mature world?

If the answer to both questions is yes, this transition would imply, on the one hand, the disintegration of obsolete systems, and on the other, the creation of a new more appropriate social structure in accordance with the needs of our world today. Then, as these two processes update our planet and all the pieces regenerate and re-organize, the disintegrative process would be producing a lot of turmoil, uncertainty and distress, wouldn’t it?

Let’s imagine our world going through this metamorphosis, in the same way a caterpillar does. First, it hangs upside down from a twig or leaf to create a chrysalis protected by a cocoon, then, activated through a hormone, it starts a shocking process of transformation. Some cells which are already programmed for self-destruction are digested into the new body parts for the soon-to-be butterfly. Indeed, this is a tough transformation, each element is transmuted into a completely different shape and forms completely new structures. Finally, when this challenging operation comes to an end, the butterfly manifests in its maximum brilliance and beauty.  This is a stunning example of evolutionary change. Although difficult, it leads to a new, wonderful reality and to a brand new life.

Understanding our current reality better can help us to find solutions and to create a positive mindset to live with more certainty and hope. So let’s say that our world is going through a profound transformation, a metamorphosis towards a better world,  and knowing we can’t avoid the messy parts. How can we then go more easily through these challenges? How can we be more resilient to the disintegrative forces of society? How can we create healthier living and contribute to the constructive forces instead?

We might not be able to resolve all the problems of the world at once, but what we have is the potential to change our own personal reality, to do our part in the whole scheme of things. There are powerful energies we’re not always aware of or giving enough value to and are capable of transforming and bringing incredible results. One of those powerful energies is Love.

In his famous water experiment, the renowned Japanese scientist, Masaru Emoto, discovered how molecules of water are affected by our thoughts, words and feelings. He took photographs of ice crystals and realized that different water formed different crystals. Some were similar, some were deformed, and some didn’t form crystals at all. He saw that tap water formed not a single complete crystal, however, natural water from springs and rivers formed complete crystals. Then, one day he came up with the idea of exposing distilled water to Beethoven and Mozart’s music, and was surprised to see that the result was especially beautiful and well-formed crystals, both of them with lovely detail. He also experimented exposing the water to violent heavy metal music, and in contrast, it resulted in fragmented and malformed crystals at best.

But his experiments didn’t stop there. He wrote words or phrases like “Thank you” and “Fool” on pieces of paper and wrapped them around bottles of water with the words facing in. He wasn’t disappointed by the results. The water exposed to “Thank you” formed beautiful hexagonal crystals, yet the water exposed to “Fool” produced malformed and fragmented shapes. One day he became astonished by the most beautiful and delicate crystal he had ever seen. It was formed by being exposed to the words “Love and Gratitude” which had created the shape of a flower in bloom. This event changed his life forever.

In his books, he shared a collection of water crystal photographs, as he also wanted them to be a collection of messages about how to live. Especially his book “The Shape of Love” is a fascinating investigation into the intersection of science and spirituality and its impact on our lives and our world.

Love is a form or energy which is manifested through our thoughts, words, feelings and also through our actions. In his books, Masaru Emoto explains how love, from a vibration frequency perspective, is one type of resonance that has the effect of raising our frequency level and make us shine. He wrote that only vibrations of love and gratitude appear in nature, like in plants, trees and animals, and that as tuning forks, human beings are capable to emit love vibrations which influence their environment. So, when someone rises to his or her highest level of capability, he or she naturally make others rise to their capability as well.

Everyone in some way or another is dealing with the effects of our world’s revolutionary transformation. Whether you or someone you know are suffering from anxiety, depression or any kind of mental distress, Masaru Emoto’s discoveries can give you the certainty that we all possess the potential to create a new reality when acknowledging and applying the energy of love and positive thoughts in our daily experiences. We might start observing when negative feelings come to us, and then making the effort to change them to positive and lovely feelings, instead. We don’t need to change completely at once but we can take small steps towards healing.

Love can be manifested in all levels, self-love, in personal relationships, in our communities, in our world. Love is all around us, Love is Real.

"When your heart is open to possibilities you start to notice small things that can lead to enormous discoveries."

Masaru Emoto
